Does any one have Tom Tom out there?? I have had the Clasic version for about two years now and have found it invaluable. Great fro navigating to French camp sites.... and even stranger places in the UK. What experiences have you had with yours - with the caravan or without ... Nearly made the mistake of trying to go throug the centre of York with the van on the back... OMG but realised in time...

Well I can sympathise with you driving through the centre of York as I have had to go through a few time when I first met my wife and that was without a van on the back.
We did have a Garmin IQue sat nav for a few years and have to say it got us to one or two places we may never have reached if Dawn had been navigating. Unfortunately a couple of months ago it did one, the voice commands started saying different things than the map. It would say things like take second exit on a roundabout but the map would show the first exit.
So we now have a GO 710 and up to now like it though have not got to use it in anger yet. Both units have their good and bad points at the end of the day. One thing I have found is that the screen is not as bright on the Tomtom in strong sunlight.

Some of us have TomTom as the Navigator series on our PDA's (bit slwoer but I can email from wireless hotspots too)
The only problem we found was actually Spain as the mapping is a bit _ _ _ _err _ _ thin and quite a few raods are missing so we kept going down through fields according to the map

Our Garmin was a PDA and must admit I used the PDA part just as much as the sat nav. Never driven through fields with though lol
